Charles A. Gray, age 86, of Philadelphia, Tennessee passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020. He loved his church and was a Deacon at New Macedonia Baptist Church for 60 years. Charles was preceded in death by his son, Michael Wayne “Shady” Gray; grandson, Patrick Dalton; parents, George and Minnie Shults Gray; brothers, Earl Gray and Glen Gray; sister, Evelyn Rogers. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Louise Campbell Gray; children, Pam Gray and Brad Gray; sisters, Betty Millsaps, Kate Anderson, Carolyn Centers and husband, Danny, Pat Smith, and Jama Collins; brother, John “Doc” Gray and wife, Ruth; sister-in-law, Sandra Gray. Charles is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. Family and friends may visit, at their convenience, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM at Loudon Funeral Home on Sunday, May 24, 2020. Graveside service will follow at 4:00 PM at New Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Military Honors will be conferred by the Loudon County Veterans Honor Guard and the United States Army Honor Guard.
