Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Krohn, 75, of 601 E.Grand Ave. died at 6:45 pm, Tuesday in St.Marys hospital. Seriously ill since Friday she was taken to the hospital Monday night.
Born near Effingham, Dec. 18, 1870 she was the daughter of Curtis and Sarah Babbs. She was married to Frank Krohn in Effingham. He died May 23, 1935 in Decatur. Before coming to Decatur 22 years ago she had lived near Effingham and Altamont She was a member of the Third United Brethren church.
Surviving are a daughter, Rena Ray, Decatur and a son Frank Krohn Jr., Battle Creek, Mich. A son Fred and an infant daughter, preceded her in death. There is a brother, Matt Babbs of Altamont and a sister,Mrs Bessie Landreth of Altamont. She also leaves 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am Friday in the Moran & Sons funeral home where friends may call after 7pm today. Burial will be the Mahon cemetery near Altamont.
