Bill was born in Faubush, Kentucky on Sunday, February 16th, 1930; son of the late Henry T. and Lillie Bland Burkett. He was the owner and operator of Burkett Masonry until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, and collecting coins and knives. He was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Bill was survived by one son, Billy (and Melodye) Burkett; one daughter, Janie (and Eddie Bill) Ping; his grandchildren; his great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Patsy Burkett and Ada Burkett; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Burkett, who departed this life on October 5th, 1977 and Lillie Burkett, who departed this life on October 19th, 1981; three brothers, Jerry Burkett, Jimmy Burkett, and Eyvind Burkett; and four sisters, Alodine Bland, Genice Mink, Oneida Whitaker, and Irene Boyer.
Visitations were held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20th, 2020 at the Pulaski Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20th, 2020 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. David Gambrel officiating.
Burial followed in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Pulaski County, Kentucky.
