ROCKFORD, ILL.--Beryle W. Hand, 76, of Rockford, Ill., formerly of Pleasanton, Neb., died Wednesday, July 1, 1998, at St. Anne Center in Rockford.
Services were Tuesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church of Rockford, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery in Winnebago, Winnebago County, Illinois.
Memorials are planned to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
He was born January 7, 1922 to Frank and Mabel Sherman Hand on a farm southwest of Pleasanton. Beryle attended elementary school at Peake # 32 and was graduated from Pleasanton High School with the Class of 1939.
In May of 1956, he married Dorothy "Dottie" Anastase. He was a plant engineer for Quaker Oats Co. for over 40 years.
Four years ago, he moved to Rockford from Chatanooga, Tenn.
He was a charter member of the church.
Survivors include his wife, of Rockford, son Michael, Topeka, Kansas; daughter Patty Schulte, Minneapolis; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Victor and Russell.
