Mrs. Dora Davis Armbruster, 82, of 715 S. Walnut St. died at 4 a.m. Saturday at her residence. She underwent surgery two months ago at Memorial Hospital.
Born in Petersburg, she attended Springfield school and had resided here since early childhood.
Active in church and civic affairs, she had been associated with the Springfield Council of Churches and secretary to pastors of the First Christian church where she had been a lifetime member.
Until her death she was a charter and board member of the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Garden Club and its secretary since the groups inception.
Active in the Republican party politics, she had held secretarial positions with the State Legislature and the Pardon and Paroles Board.
Her husband, Herman R., a son, Harry A. and a brother, Edgar J. Davis, all of Springfield proceeded her in death. She leaves no relatives.
