Son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick McManus.
Coal miner.

He was accidentally shot at Baxter's Saloon by his friend John "Boston" Viera. He was taken to St. John's hospital where he died of his injuries.
Survived by his mother; three sisters: Mrs. John Hamilton of Clinton, Mrs. Tony Spies of Springfield, and Miss Margaret McManus of Springfield; and one brother, James McManus of Springfield.
Services held at the Church of the Immaculate Conception.
Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
