George Finch was married to Amanda M. Calvert Finch. Amanda Calvert Finch died June 24, 1924 and is buried in St. Luke's Episcopal Church Cemetery, Lincolnton, Lincoln County, N. C. In his wife's obituary attached to her Find a Grave memorial #122109880, it states Amanda is buried beside her husband. Amanda's obituary also states she married George Finch "Jr" in 1848 and that after the end of the Civil War in 1865 they moved to Lincoln County, N. C.
On May 4, 2020, I called the church at (704) 240-3332 and no one was there who could confirm this burial information so I left my name and phone number. I haven't received a return call.

On May 5, 2020 I again called St. Luke's and was able to speak to a gentleman named Trey Suttle. I told Mr. Suttle that Amanda has a grave marker. Mr. Suttle said the church has a map with all gravestones marked for location; however, they do not have sections or lot numbers, etc. He went to Amanda's grave site and said there are 2 adults buried there and 1 child. Mr. Suttle said only Amanda has a grave marker. I'm guessing the other adult is George since Amanda's obituary states she is buried beside him. I'm also guessing the other grave is the 2 day old infant of George & Amanda's daughter, Eva H. Finch Childs & her husband C. E. Childs who died 2 days after Eva died. Guess we'll never know for certain.
