Harold Berger, age 92, of Ewing, passed away peacefully on Thursday April 9, 2020.

Born in the Bronx, New York he was a longtime resident of New Jersey, living in New Milford, Lawrenceville, Monroe Township and most recently at The Abrams Assisted Living Residence of Greenwood House in Ewing Township.

Harold proudly enlisted in the Army and became a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. Upon leaving the military, he enrolled in college and ultimately became a graduate of New York University with a PHD in Parasitology. He worked for American Cyanamid Company for 37 years as a Research Parasitologist in Discovery and Development of Animal Health Products before retiring in 1991.

He was a former Men’s Club President and Board Member of Congregation Brothers of Israel. In his lifetime he felt the most important things to teach your children are love of family, faith in your religion and love and respect for your country. In addition to his first love, spending time with his family, Harold loved fishing, bowling, reading novels and keeping up with news.

Harold was the beloved husband of Arlene Berger for 66 years. He was a devoted father to Sheryl Punia and her husband Joseph, son James and his wife Michelle, and son Lawrence and his wife Fern. He was a doting and loving grandfather to his grandchildren Elyse, Andrew, Charlie, Grant, Jared, Alexis and Ryan and loving great grandfather to Sebastian and Jamie.

Interment will be private at Floral Park Cemetery in South Brunswick.
