Mrs. Cersey was born in Lakeland, Georgia on October 26, 1944, the daughter of the late Curtis Bennett and Rosa Simpson Bailey. She previously worked as a hostess at Cracker Barrel for a number of years, as well as a machine operator at Nashville Textile. Mrs. Cersey was a member of New Beginnings Church of God.
She is survived by her husband, Homer Cersey of sixty one years, daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Gerald Clark, Douglasville, Georgia; grandchildren, Jessica and Andy Hayes, Jeremy Clark, Ashley and Justin Rackley. Great grandchildren are Cameron Hayes, Landon Hayes, Tate Rackley and Emsley Rackley; brother, James Bennett, Enigma, Georgia; and sister, Ellen Molder, Brandon, Mississippi. A host of nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant children, Monty Harrell Cersey and Sheila Faye Cersey; brother, Jack Bennett; and sister, Jeanette Zeigler.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to each service. A Memorial Service will be conducted in Nashville, Georgia at Mt. Pleasant Church, Friday, November 1, 2019 at 2:00p p.m. with Rev. Ken Robinson officiating. An additional Memorial Service will be held at New Beginnings Church of God in Carrollton, Georgia on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverends Scott Crowe and Jeff Maxwell officiating.
