Merle H. Campbell, 82, of Waverly, died Tuesday morning, October 21, 1986, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
He was born May 3, 1904 in Macoupin County, the son of Hugh and Millie Alderson Campbell.
He married Sarahleen Lyons on May 23, 1941 and she survives, along with three daughters, Joan Richardson of Van Nuys, Calif., Donna Richardson of Corsicana, Tex., and Teresa Campbell of Waverly; two sons, Terry and Butch Campbell of Waverly; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were one sister and one son.
Mr. Campbell was the owner and operator of a trucking service in Waverly for many years.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Neece Funeral Home in Waverly, with burial to follow in the Waverly cemetery.
