Mrs. Millie Kriesel Ferry, formerly of Fairbury, passed away in the Broken Bow general hospital Friday, May 23, 1958, at the age of 48 years, 3 months and 2 days.
Millie Maria Henrietta Kriesel, a daughter of the late Albert and Emilie Kriesel, was born Feb. 21, 1910, on a farm four miles west of Fairbury. She was baptized March 27, 1910, and confirmed on April 9, 1924, in Zion's Evangelical and Reformed church one mile east of Gladstone.
In March, 1940, she married Harold Stevenson of Springhill, Kansas. On May 26, 1941, Mr. Stevenson was killed in an auto accident near Lindsborg, Kansas.
On March 15, 1944, she married John L. Ferry of Fairbury and the couple resided near Fairbury for several years. The past eight years she lived in the northern part of Nebraska where her husband is employed by the State Game Commission.
Surviving are her husband, John L. Ferry of Victoria Springs State Park, Neb.; brother, Ernest Kriesel, and two sisters, Adeline, Mrs. John A. Schoenrock, and Emma, Mrs. Albert Schweer, all of Fairbury, and other relatives.
Funeral services were Monday afternoon at Zion's Ev. and reformed church east of Gladstone with the pastor, Rev. D. Buelter, officating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased, Weldon Schweer of Doniphan, Carl Schoenrock, Alvin Schoenrock, Walter Kriesel and Erwin Kriesel and a cousin of the deceased, Henry Schoenrock.
