Barbara Jean "Bobbie" Dodd was the youngest child of Wesley Edward Dodd and Laura Orlena Fruin Dodd. She graduated from Greenfield Missouri High School. As a young woman, she went to Wichita, Kansas, for work and met and soon married Howard Carmean. They raised three children: Janis Omohundro Sanchez, Michael Carmean, and Jean Ann Walsh Lemon. Work took them from Wichita to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, back to Wichita, and then to Huntsville, Alabama; Kirkland Washington; and then Wichita again. She and Howard finally retired in Macon, Georgia. She was an avid golfer. Bobbie died suddenly in her home of a heart attack.
