Leonard was baptized August 28, 1932 and confirmed May 12, 1946 within St John’s Lutheran Church in Culbertson, Nebraska.
He graduated from Culbertson High School in 1950 and married Dorothy Sinner on September 9, 1951. He joined Ironworker’s Local 21 on August 10, 1953 and retired from the profession in 1987. The structures he helped build still stand strong today.
Leonard enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and was a master at keeping the yard well-groomed surrounding the home he built for his family beginning in 1959.
