Genevieve Daugherty was born on November 15th, 1935 to Eleanor and Manuel Figueiredo in Fresno, California. She spent almost her entire life in the Santa Ynez Valley, taking care of everyone and everything, especially those she loved most: her home, flowers, furry and winged creatures, her friends, her church, and her children (Diana, Jeanne, David, Paul and Leanne), 7 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. It was only in her last few weeks of life that she finally allowed us to take care of her. She was her sweet, generous, uncomplaining self until the very end. We said goodbye to our Mom, Grandma, and Vava on June 21st, 2019, when she passed away peacefully at home in her sleep, due to cancer. She is now reunited in heaven with her dear husband Marston G. Daugherty, and baby Rosanna. A funeral mass for Genevieve will be held on Thursday, August 1st at 10:00am at Old Mission Santa Ines. Rosary preceding at 9:30am. In lieu of flowers, Genevieve would want you to have a bouquet for yourself, to remind you of her. And, as she always said to those who lived far away, "Hug each other for me!"
