Frances “Franny” “Fran” Lentz
Franny passed away peacefully on April 10, 2005, anxious to join her beloved friends who went before.

A lifelong resident of Humboldt County and Fortuna, Fran was born April 18, 1919, to Frank Skinner and Adelaide Mulley Skinner. She graduated from Fortuna Union High School in 1938. She worked as a telephone operator for Pacific Bell for 25 years prior to her retirement.

She had a good time while she was here, always finding the humor in life’s challenges. You could always depend on her for a good laugh and a story or two. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

Fran enjoyed meeting people and making new friends. She loved to garden, read, watch, and “coach”, the ball games on TV. She also touched the lives of many through her lifelong involvement in numerous local organizations.

She was a member of Fortuna United Methodist Church, Reichling Parlor #97, Native Daughter’s of the Golden West of Fortuna, Rohnerville Chapter #76, Order of the Eastern Star of Fortuna, Azalea Shrine #47 White Shrine of Jerusalem of Eureka, Rebekah Lodge # 81 of Fortuna, Rohner Grange #509, Humboldt Pamona grange #19, California State Grange, 6th Degree, National Grange 7th Degree, and a Commissioner with the Fortuna Museum.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the caregivers at the St. Luke Manor and to those who visited her during her stay there.

A celebration of Fran’s life will be held at the Rohner Grange, Rohnerville Road and Mill Street, Fortuna on Saturday, April 16, 2005, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Arrangements are through Goble’s Fortuna Mortuary, Fortuna.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Luke Manor Patient Activities Fund, 2321 Newburg Road, Fortuna, or the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95817.
