Floyd Edwards, age 78, Erwin, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 30, 2020 at the Unicoi County Hospital. He was a native of Ramseytown, NC but lived most of his life in Unicoi County. Floyd was a son of the late Hubert and Rose Hollifield.

He was a United States Army Veteran. Floyd was a member of Faith Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for several years.

He was a Heavy Equipment Operator for many years, working for various companies. Floyd loved working on lawnmowers and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of fifty-four years, Cora Edwards; three sons: Tim Edwards, Travis Edwards and Kevin Edwards, all of Erwin; three grandchildren: Daniel Edwards (Olivia), Kendra Miller (Christian) and Dylan Edwards (Destiny); two great grandchildren: Travis and Conley Miller; two brothers: Coy Edwards (Joyce), Erwin, S.J. Edwards (Edith), Marion, NC; one brother-in-law, Doug Tipton (Shirley), Erwin; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 2, 2020 in the Tinker Cemetery. Reverend Harold Lewis and Reverend Daniel Norton will officiate. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemtery by 1:45 PM on Thursday.
