Lou was born on Oct. 11, 1924, in Daviess County, Indiana, the daughter of Dewey and Laura (Beaman) McLin.
She retired from General Motors after over 35 years of service.
Lou was a member of United Auto Workers Local 662, Retirees Chapter. She also was appointed to the Govenor's Council on Aging by Governor Frank O'Bannon.
She enjoyed camping and Bluegrass festivals.
Lou is survived by her husband, Chester McCord; son, Jerry (Charlotte) Bannon; daughters, Candace Wilde, Neeca Harvey; grandchildren, Braydon (Summer) Harvey, Julie Whitmore, Tim (Tracey) Bannon, Josh (Kim) Harvey, and Leah (TJ) Johnson; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara (Rex) Mercer, Anna Stilwel, and Shirley Schoettmer; stepchildren, Mark (Barbara) McCord, Sandy (David) Newman, and Marcy (Roshier) Marshel; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Orville Kenneth Bannon; brother, Dewey McLin; sisters, Joan Cross, Delores Ballart.
Due to the Coronavirus epidemic and in the interest of public health and safety, services will be private.
There will be a celebration of life held at a later date.
Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson.
