Carrie Veatrice Garner Hall was the 9th of 10 children of James Edmond Garner and Willie Ann Reel. She was born on February 14, 1904 in Tatum, Rusk County, Texas. She was nicknamed "Whit" by her father. She married James Beviely Hall on July 1, 1922 in Longview, Gregg County, Texas. Their son James Wayne Hall was born on October 30, 1926 in Grand Saline.

Funeral services for Mrs. James B. Hall, 64, a resident of 1302 Dale Street, will be held at 5 o'clock this afternoon at the Glover-Alpine Church of Christ. Minister Boyd Fanning will conduct the service and burial will be in Memory Park Cemetery under the direction of Welch Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hall died Friday in a local hospital following a short illness.

Surviving her are her husband, James B. Hall, Longview; one son Dr. James W. Hall, Clemson, S.C.; one brother, James O. Garner, Dallas; two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Bozarth and Mrs. L. C. Lake, both of Dallas; three grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
