Albert Grayson Kaylor, Sr., age 82, of Fairview Road, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 6, 2000 at The McDowell Hospital.

He retired from Herendon Furniture Company. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served during WWII.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma Messer Kaylor, of the home; Glenda and Larry Wilkerson, daughter and son-in-law of Marion; Albert G. (Jr.) and Bertie Kaylor, son and daughter-in-law of Morganton; four brothers, Lloyd Fate Kaylor of Wilmington, Joe Kaylor & Ralph Douglas Kaylor of Marion and Cecil Kaylor of Charlotte; three sisters, Mary Hayes Miller of Marion, Margaret Early and Elsie Holloway of Concord. Five grandchildren also survive him, Amy C. Walsh and husband, Terrance of Marion, Annette Cooper of Kingsport, Jennifer C. Jones and husband Don of Destin, FL, Melissa K. Sheffield and husband, Randy of Morganton and Robert Kaylor of Morganton; two great grandchildren, Patrick and Jonathan Walsh of Marion.

His parents, George Grayson Kaylor and Myra Proctor Kaylor and a brother, Jonas Kaylor, preceded his in death.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 8, 2000 at 4:00 p.m. in Westmoreland Chapel with the Rev. Milton Hollifield and Rev. Larry Cline officiating. Visitation was held on Friday, April 7, 2000 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Westmoreland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association NC Affiliate Region 1 50 S. French Broad St. Asheville, NC 28801.
