A son of William and Jane (McLaughlin) Cann, Amos Cann married Elizabeth Biddinger (aka Bittinger) prior to 1826.
By 1830 Amos Cann and his family were farming land in Morgan Township of Butler Co., OH where he resided until his death. Ten children were born to this Cann couple, seven boys and three girls.
The "Hamilton Telegraph" of March 25, 1880 reports the following: "A correspondent from Alert, Ohio writes us that Mr. Amos Cann, a much respected citizen of Morgan township and over 80 years of age, died very suddenly of heart disease on the 13th inst."
