Catherine Marshall, age 93, of Troy, Tennessee passed from this earthly life on Saturday, March 14, 2020. She was born April 10, 1926, the daughter of the late Charles Clyde and Willie Dame Albright. She is survived by her 4 children and their spouses: Cathy Marshall (Lynda Nemon), Barry Marshall (Barbara), Patricia Anderson (Michael), and Glen Marshall (Carol). She has 7 grandchildren; Emily Marshall (Robert Hatfield), Mary Katharine Marshall, Patrick Anderson (Gioconda), Michelle Napier (Shawn), Alex Floyd Marshall (Rebecca), Douglas Marshall, and Jennifer Marshall, and 4 great grandchildren; Reagan Hanmer, Brady Hanmer, Simon Floyd Marshall and Luke Floyd Marshall. She also has many loving nieces and nephews.

Catherine was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Perry, who she loved very much and with whom she shared a long life together; and also by her parents, and her sisters Anna Laura Ervin, and Lillian Curtis.

Mrs. Marshall was a Christian and life-long active member of the First United Methodist Church in Obion until her health declined. She raised four children in the church and set an example of a Christian life by her work in the church and community. She often sang for weddings, funerals and special occasions. She was a longtime member of the Obion Music Club.

She was a gifted artist, talented seamstress, and tireless quilter. Catherine was always creating through drawing, gardening, sewing, or quilting. She was a wonderful seamstress and made clothes for her children. She loved making quilts and made many for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her creativity was evident in her quilts.

She always encouraged her children to participate in the arts, including music, drawing and painting. She passed on her creativity to each of her children and they are all artists in their own way.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 17, at the First United Methodist Church in Obion. Visitation starts at 12:30 and the funeral is at 2pm followed by burial at the Mount Moriah Cemetery. Reverend John Carroll will officiate. Pallbearers will be Daniel Armstrong, Thomas McCollough, Wade Norsworthy, Steven Smith, Shawn Napier and Greg Ervin. Honorary pallbearers will be Maurice Carroll, Danny McDonald, Mike Anderson, Bernie Cheatham and Alan Jordan.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are encouraged to the First United Methodist Church in Obion, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Scott Revell Scholarship Fund.
