"DEATH TAKES ONE - OF OLDEST RESIDENTS"
"Mrs. Lois Neff Edsall, 85, one of Canfield township's oldest native born residents, died of complications early Sunday morning [11 Oct 1953] in St. Elizabeth's hospital, Youngstown, where she had been a patient since Sept. 17, when she fractured a hip in a fall. A daughter of Martin and Catherine Wilson Neff, she was born in a log cabin, a mile and a half east of Canfield, Sept. 16, 1868, and was a resident of the township her entire life. Mrs. Edsall was a member of Paradise Lutheran church and the Amity Club of Canfield. She was married to Chas. Edsall in 1889 (22 Jan 1899). Surviving is her son-in-law, Raymond Bischoff, with whom she made her home. Two daughters, Mrs. Julia Bischoff and Mrs. Bertha Venables, preceded her in death. Funeral services, with Rev. L.J. Baker in charge, were held Tuesday afternoon [13 Oct 1953] at the Williams Funeral Home, and burial made in the Canfield cemetery."
Note: They were divorced 21 Mar 1913. She shares a headstone with her daughter Bertha Edsall Venables. O.J. Venables is on one side of Lois and Bertha's stone and Charles H. Edsall's is on the other side.
