In 1872, Elizabeth immigrated to America with her parents, Bernhard and Maria Catherina (Hufnagel) Lange. She married John Blundy on December 17, 1874 at St. Joseph Church in Detroit, Michigan. They moved to Westphalia, Michigan and raised seven children, Philip, Catherine, Mary, John, Anna, Theodore and Veronica. Their youngest daughter, Gertrude (1892-1891) died young. Elizabeth was also the step-mother to Elanora who was two years old when she and John married.

After John's death in 1902, Elizabeth may have moved to Isabella County to live by Elanora since that is where she passed away and was buried in the local Catholic Cemetery.
