On March 9, 2020, Heaven gained an Angel, a life that was cut too short. Amy Hughes Bedford suffered a massive heart attack on Saturday, March 7. God had on his calendar it was time for Amy to come home. Amy was born February 26, 1980 in Carroll County the daughter of Deedie Buchanan Evans and the late Kenneth Hughes. She was a graduate of Carrollton High School. Amy always had such a strong love for animals, especially her cats. She also loved music, sports, taking pictures, fishing, and spending time with her mother and children. She briefly worked as a rural mail carrier for Villa Rica Post Office and as a radio dispatcher for 9-1-1 Emergency Service. Her failing health kept her from continuing a work career. She is survived by her two sons, Taylor and Preston Bedford, Mother, Deedie Buchanan Evans, A half-sister, Debbie Bates, Father of her children, Keith Bedford, and special friend, Michael Rice. Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 14 at Martin and Hightower Heritage Chapel of Carrollton at 2:00 pm with Rev. Greg Dixon officiating. Pallbearers will be Jamie Attaway, Jamie Collins, Anthony Estes, Shannon Maxwell, Brian Preston, and Andy Schoerner. The family will receive visitors on Friday, March 13 from 5 to 8 pm. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church on 5698 Roosterville Road in Heard County. Amy made a selfless and life-saving gift many years ago choosing to be an organ donor. Though absent from the body, in the presence of the Lord, her legacy lives on in the lives of others.
