Resolution of Respect from Concord Primitive Baptist Church Minutes 1810 - 1978, Creswell, NC:

Whereas it has please our heavenly father to remove from us by the hand of death our highly esteemed and worthy Sister Martha Clifton. Whereas sad event at her home near Cherry, Washington Co., NC March 2nd 1921 (Death Record states Mar 1) for 57 years liking few month she was a dutiful member of the Primitive Baptist church at Concord and we feel safe to say that no church ever had a more faithfull member beliaving our loss her eternal gain. Be it resolved first that we sincerely maurn her departure and with sad hearts meekly bow to the will of him who doeth all things well. Resolved second that her bereaved husband has lost a faithfull wife. Resolved third that we tender her bereaved husbind our deepest symethy and commend to him one who has promised to be his children in time of trouble. Resolved fourth a coppy of this resolution be placed on our record and a copy be sent to Zions Landmark and a coppy be sent to the breave husband this written by order of confarance on Saturday before the 4th Sunday in March 1921.
