Ruth Dietrich File age 106 passed away Monday, March 2, 2020 in Sunnyside, WA. Ruth was born on the Dietrich Homestead in Jackson County, Wisconsin on July 4th, 1913 to parents John J. Dietrich and Elize Mache. She attended Rural School at Cloverdale, Wisconsin (which was built on her parent’s dairy farm) and graduated from the Black River Falls High School in 1932. Her mother passed away at an early age and she stayed to help her father with family. In 1943 Ruth and her brother came west and settled in Grandview, Washington. She assisted her brother with his orchards. In 1954 she and Elmer File were married in Walla Walla, Washington. Ruth was a long time member of the Methodist Church, Grandview Grange and Sage Brush Sisters. She loved nature, outdoors, flowers and gardening.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Elmer File in 1976, parents, two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by two nieces and two nephews in Wisconsin and one cousin Manford Dietrich of Sunnyside. Ruth spent her home for the past six years at Sunnyside Assisted Living in Sunnyside, WA.
