Grandpa Armstrong, who had been making his home with his daughter, Mrs. W. F. Shotts, for the last few months died of a complication of chronic diseases last Friday May 31. Had he lived until October he would have been 78 years old. His funeral was preached at the Hollister cemetery by Rev. W. A. Emmerson Saturday at 2 p.m., who read a very impressive lesson from the fifth chapter of Paul's second letter to the Corinthians, after which the remains were laid to rest. He leaves one daughter here and several relatives in Texas and a host of friends to mourn his departure.

Dearest father thou hath left us, Thou hath gone where angels dwell,
No more thy dear presence will bless us
How wwe[sic] miss thee none can tell.

He hath gone, who in earliest life
Soothed our childish care,
Who taught our feet to walk the narrow way
To the land that is bright and fair.

Yes, father's gone where the angels dwell
But some day his face we'll greet,
Then we'll clasp the glad hand of our dear one
When in that dear heavenly home we meet.

Rest on, dear father, rest on;
Rest sweetly in Christ, our Lord,
He has called thee to that heavenly home
Thy labors to reward.
