He was born Jan. 10, 1872 at Kokomo, and had spent his entire life in the community until the last four years, when he went to South Bend to make his home with his daughter.
Mr. Steward was married in 1893 to Eva May Miller, and she died in 1950. A son, Chester, died in 1959.
He was a member of the Kokomo Odd Fellows Lodge No. 133.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs Hazel Keim of South Bend, two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Ellers Funeral Chapel and burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery.
Friends may call at the chapel after 2 p.m. today.
