Richard was born on August 1, 1951 in Canton, South Dakota to Lloyd Buttz and Melvina Orr-Buttz. He married the love of his life Cindy on March 18, 1974 at Hulbert Field, FL. He was enlisted in the United States Air Force in April of 1972 until September 1979 as a Fire Protection Specialist. In later years he was a firefighter at the Naval Air Station-Dallas and then a Safety Specialist for the Army Corps of Engineers.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife Cynthia "Cindy" Buttz, three daughters Holly Cinne and twins Jennifer Cinne and Melanie Lynn, brother Wesley Buttz, sister Rebecca "Becky" Buttz and parents Lloyd Buttz and Melvina Orr-Buttz.
Richard is survived by his son Chris Buttz, daughter Melissa Edwards, granddaughters Nikole and Natalie Edwards, sister Evelyn "Evie" Buttz and brother Robert "Bob" Buttz.
Richard was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
