A Funeral Mass for Genevieve Shaw, age 84, of O’Neill will be 10:30 am Thursday, September 5, 2019 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in O’Neill.
Burial will be in the O’Neill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Biglin’s Mortuary in O’Neill with a 7 pm Rosary.
Genevieve passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Arbor Care Center in O’Neill.
Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Biglin’s Mortuary in O’Neill is in charge of arrangements.
Genevieve Marie Kamphaus was born on October 27, 1934 near Raeville, Nebraska to Joseph and Juliana (Arnberger) Kamphaus. The family later moved to the Amelia area where she attended country school at District 216 through the eighth grade. Once out of school, Genevieve help her mother at home, raise her six younger brothers.
Genevieve married William Keith Shaw on April 7, 1956 in Amelia. The couple made their home on the Shaw home place, south west of O’Neill. After her husband died suddenly in 1978, Genevieve moved into O’Neill. She like to keep her home neat and was always working in her yard. She moved to the Evergreen in 2016.
Genevieve liked to play any type of card game, but especially, Pitch. She also like to do crossword puzzles and word search puzzles. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in O’Neill.
Genevieve is survived by her four daughters, Dorothy (Von) Mosel of O’Neill, Cathy (Mark) Fox of O’Neill, Jeanne (Dave) Sayler of Menno, South Dakota, Diane Neuharth of Yankton; seven grandchildren, Crystal (Peter) Brummels, James Mosel, Joshua (Sarah) Walton, Jamie Walton, Brandon Sayler, Daniel Sayler, Ashley (Aaron Huxoll) Tschantre; six great grandchildren; six siblings, Dorothy Summers of O’Neill, Carl (Irene) Kamphaus of O’Neill, Bernard (Jo Ellen) Kamphaus of Chambers, Mike (Yvonne) Kamphaus of Omaha, Frank (Dianne) Kamphaus of Columbus, Paul (Carolyn) Kamphaus of Omaha; one sister-in-law, LaVerne Kamphaus of Burwell; many nieces and nephews.
Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Juliana Kamphaus; her husband, Bill Shaw in 1978; and five siblings, Juliana Svatos, Mary Stewart, John Kamphaus, Joe Kamphaus, and Tony Kamphaus.
