Albert L. Hough, age 78 of Mecosta, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Schnepp Senior Care & Rehab Center in St. Louis.

If you needed something fixed Albert was your guy and if he didn't know how to fix it, it wasn't too long before he figured it out or fudged his way through it. Not one to follow, Albert often blazed his own path and made his own trails even if that meant bending a few rules along the way. He loved being with people and could make friends with anyone. He was an avid sportsman who loved hunting, fishing, canoeing, and he would find or use any excuse that let him be outdoors. He was a fanatic when it came to anything with wheels and engines. Albert also loved both of his John's; John Deere tractors and John Wayne. His beer of choice was Pabst Blue Ribbon and Albert was also very talented and resourceful when it came to building things and working with wood. He loved spending time with his kids, grandkids, and pets. He will be deeply missed by everyone.

Surviving Albert is his daughter, June (Todd) McMeeken of Belding; sons, John Hough of Sheridan; Walter (Karen) Hough of Belding; grandchildren, Jenny Lasko of Essexville; Michelle (Norm) Hayward of Belding; Zachary (Alicia) Hough of Belding; Emily (Trenton) Cloudman of Mulliken; Holden Hough of Stanton; great grandchildren, Adam; Kaleb; Jake; Owen; Brailen; Lennox; Little Walter; Lilah; sister, Alice (Bob) Chrzan of Dearborn; his wife of 51 years, Sandra Hough of Stanton; his significant other of 5 years, Karen McClellan of Mecosta and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Mildred (Pickens) Hough; sisters, Erma Hough; Valera Whipple; Bertha Byberg; Katherine Gannon; Mary Chitwood; Ina Parker; brothers, Charles "Junior" Hough and Bill Hough.

Services celebrating Albert's life are being held on Friday, February 21, 2020 at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Stanton (225 W. Cedar St.) with visitation from 11 AM – 12PM and a memorial service beginning at 12 Noon.
