Kent William Brainard, age 62, passed away peacefully at his home in Clare House in Minneapolis. He previously resided in Chaska from 2011-2017. Kent was born August 20, 1956 to Carl and Delpha Brainard. He grew up in Postville, IA and graduated from Postville Consolidated High School in 1975. Kent lived in Chicago, Illinois and worked for the Chicago Sun Times newspaper. He moved to Minnesota in 1996. He is survived by two sisters, Callie (Ken) Marek of Medford, OR, Dixie Koopman of Chanhassen and one brother, Chuck (Marsha) Brainard of Clermont, IA; and ten nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Delpha (Moore) Brainard; two brothers, Lawrence and Robert; and one sister, Carlene. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 8 at 2 p.m., with a visitation one hour prior, at Huber Funeral Home, 16394 Glory Ln, Eden Prairie, MN 55344. Interment will be held at the Postville Cemetery in Postville, IA at a later date.
