He had been previously married, spouse unknown. William's parents were Henry Ziesse and Martha Kersten. William and Kittie had five children - Anna, Martha, Wilmer, William, and Barbara. Based on the death notice published in the Detroit Free Press, 30 Nov. 1909, both his wife, Catherine Bacot, and his son, William, predeceased him. The paper states Ziesse was 64 years, 5 months at the time of his death. According to the death certificate for William Ziesse he was buried at Woodmere cemetery.
