Lwrence Kloss
Lawrence Kloss, age 89, of Royalton, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2015, at the Pierz Villa in Pierz.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 Tuesday, May 19, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, with Fr. Laurn Virnig and Fr. Kenneth Popp concelebrating. Interment was in the parish cemetery.
Lawrence Paul Kloss was born Jan. 15, 1926, in Little Falls, the son of Edward and Elizabeth (Smieja) Kloss. He grew up on a farm east of Royalton and attended country school. Following his schooling, he joined a threshing team traveling around the area. He was united in marriage to Rita Popp, Nov. 10, 1947, at Immaculate Conception Church in Rice. The couple settled on a farm east of Royalton where they raised their sons. After retiring from farming, he delivered feed to farmers throughout the area and made many friends. He enjoyed fishing for sunfish, spending time with his grandchildren and traveling with Rita. He was a member of the Little Falls Knights of Columbus serving as a Grand Knight and later joined the Royalton Council. He was also a member of Holy Trinity Church in Royalton where he served as an usher.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Jeffrey Kloss of Royalton, Bruce (Cheryl) Kloss, of Royalton and Brad (Mary) Kloss of Visalia, Calif.; siblings, Alvin (Elaine) Kloss of Rice and Mary Jane (Mark) Haeg of Coon Rapids; grandchildren, Jeffery (Amanda) Kloss, Adrian (Louise) Kloss, Aaron (Hanna) Kloss, Joe Kloss, Kayla Kloss and Kelsey Kloss; stepgrandchildren, Melissa (Wade Bauer) Waddell, Guy (Trina) Waddell, Jr., James (Katrina) Waddell; and many great-grandchildren.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rita (Popp) Kloss (8/14/2006); grandson, Kyle Kloss and stepgranddaughter, Jackie Waddell; step-great-grandson, Grayson Waddell, and a sister, Pelchie Nordeen.
