Elizabeth Gibson Stewart was born in 1829 in Allen County Kentucky, the daughter of John Gibson. Sometime later on the John Gibson family moved to District 14 in the far northern part of Giles Co. Tennessee. She married William Calvin Stewart(or Steward) in Giles Co in about 1846. She is recorded as 21 in the 1850 Giles Co. TN census. In 1860 the family lived near Culleoka, Maury Co.Tn. William C. Stewart served in the 48th Tenn Infantry for the Confederacy in the Civil War. By 1875 the William C. Steward family had moved to near Farmersville, Collin Co. Texas. In 1884, the family sold their land, which was located about a mile west of Farmersville, and Elizabeth is next found buried at the Bethesda Church Cemetery in Johnson Co. near Burleson where she died in 1885. This cemetery is located adjacent to I-35W on an exit.
William and Elizabeth Steward(t) had a large family of 12, and he, with son Mack moved up into present day Love Co. Oklahoma, locating near Eastman, northwest of Marietta. Eastman doesn't exist anymore, except for the Eastman cemetery, located 8 miles west of Oswalt Exit 24, then turn 1 and one half miles south from that point. William Calvin (W.C) Steward(t) is buried in this cemetery. He was born in Mississippi on June 5, 1823, and died on July 24, 1901. A number of his descendents are buried there as well.
