Margaret "Peg" Megargel, 94, formerly of Alpha, NJ, passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020, in the Lopatcong Center.

Born Oct. 2, 1925, in Riegelsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Helen (Pfeiffer) Weiss. Her beloved husband of 60 years, Harry Megargel, died April 15, 2005.

Peg was a 1943 graduate of St. Philip and St. James Parochial School. She retired from Helen's Floral Shoppe, where she worked for many years. Peg loved spending time with her family, especially Saturday night dinners. She enjoyed flower gardening and working in her yard. She also enjoyed trips to Atlantic City. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Alpha.

Peg is survived by a brother, Albert Weiss (wife, Dottie) of Henderson, NV. She was a special aunt to her many nieces and nephews, who were like her children. She is also survived by great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great-nephews. In addition to her husband, Harry, she was predeceased by a brother, Thomas M. Weiss, on Aug. 17, 2019.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church, 830 Fifth Ave., Alpha, NJ. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow Mass in Ss. Philip and James Catholic Cemetery in Greenwich Township. Arrangements are being handled by Doyle-Devlin Funeral Home, Inc., in Phillipsburg.
