Robert H. Ottinger was born April 21, 1930 in Hayti, MO. He was the son of Emerson R. Ottinger and Lydia E. Baird Ottinger.
He departed this life in Poplar Bluff, MO on January 21. He was 89 years old.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was inducted on January 5, 1951 in St. Louis, MO. He served in the Korean War. He received his honorable discharge on December 90, 1954 in Yuma, AZ.
On June 3, 1957 in Hernando, MS he was united in marriage to Louise Gallaher. She preceded him in death in 2019.
Bob was a postal worker for many years.He is survived by, a nephew and his wife, Mike and Jackie Blackwell of Piedmont, MO, two nephews, Terry and his wife of Sikeston, MO, Gary Ottinger of Washington, his brother and his wife, Ralph and Geneva Ottinger of Cape Girardeau, MO, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother, Marion Ottinger, a sister, Sue Pate and a nephew, Ronnie Ottinger.
Funeral services were held January 7 at 2 p.m. in the H.S. Smith Chapel with Brother Jim Pilcher officiating. Interment was in Maple Cemetery with military honors.
