Donnie Steve Newman, age 66, of Dallas, GA passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at his home in the care of Heartland Hospice. He was born on January 3, 1954 in Villa Rica, GA. He was a member of First Baptist Church Villa Rica, GA and a member of the VRHS Class of 1972. He worked as a lineman for Georgia Power for more than 41 years.
Mr. Newman is survived by his wife of 37 years, Terry Bearden Newman, and his children; Kayla Anderson, and Brandon Chase Newman both of Dallas, Steven Ryan Newman and Curtis Paul (Salena) Newman, both of Temple; sisters-in-law Tammy Bearden and Pam Alford both of Eaton, and Tonya (Michael) Strickland of Bremen; extended generations.
Mr. Newman was preceded in death by his parents Paul Franklin and Elsie Marie Bowen Newman.
Donnie Loved his family more than life itself. He enjoyed taking rides with his dog Tuxie. He was happiest outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and camping. Some of the best years of his life were coaching and watching his children play sports. He was proud to be a working man and Jack of All Trades. He always fixed everything the family broke. GO JACKETS!
The family will receive friends at the funeral home for visitation Sunday January 26, 2020 from 4:00 PM until time of service. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday January 26, 2020, at 5:00 PM in the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home with a graveside service at Villa Rica City Cemetery aka Hillcrest on Monday, January 27, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.
