Dr. A. H. Singer, Age 82, Died Monday Dr. A. H. Singer, prominent LaFayette veterinarian and business man, passed away last Monday morning after an illness cf two months. He fell last November, breaking his hip, and never recovered. He was 82 years of age. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon, January 14, at 3:00 p.m. from the LaFayette First Baptist Church with Rev. C. C. Sanders, pastor, conducting, assisted by Rev. Virgil M. Gardner of Oxford. Interment was in the LaFayette cemetery with Johnson & Sanders of LaFayette in charge. Honorary pallbearers were S. W. Lowe, C. W. Griffin, Byron Wilson, Charlie Finney, Dr. N. A. Wheeler, F. H. Callahan, D. W. Jackson, Harry Black, W. C. McCoy, Thomas Stanley and J. V. Chambers. Active pallbearers were B. F. Norman, W. J. Eneas, Hal Finney, W. H. Tucker, Clinton Newman, W. C. Ratchford. Surviving are the widow; three daughtersMrs. Walter Beall, Birmingham, Mrs. Walter L. Miller, Columbus, Ga.; Mrs. Harry Rowe, LaFayette; two sons, E. A. Singer, LaFayette, and O. H. Singer, Atlanta, Ga.; 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren also survive. Dr. Singer had lived his entire life in Chambers County. Besides veterinary work he operated a livery stable and later an automobile agency here. Those from out of town attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Taylor, Miss Viola Miller. Mrs. John T. Miller, Dr. and Mrs. F. M. Miller of Columbus; Mrs. Earnest Epey of Gadsden; Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Yates. Billy Yates, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Megginson, Miss Helen Dabbs of Birmingham and Mr. Harry Black of Dadeville.
