Mrs. R. L. Jones Succumbs After Five Days Illness
Following an illness of five days, Mrs. R. L. Jones, well known Columbus woman died at her residence, 2315 Eighteenth avenue, Thursday night at 5:30 o'clock.
Mrs. Jones was born at LaFayette, Ala., the daughter of Dr. A. H. and Lucy Carmichael Singer, but had been a resident of Columbus for the past twenty years, and by her genial and Christian nature leaves a host of friends and relatives who deplore her passing. She was a member of the Rose Hill Baptist church.
Surviving are her husband, R. L. Jones, of Columbus; her parents, Dr. and Mrs. A. H. Singer, of LaFayette; three sisters, Mrs. J. W. Beall of Birmingham; Mrs. Walter L. Miller, of Columbus, and Mrs. H. L. Rowe of LaFayette ; three brothers, I. H. Singer, of Alexander City, Ala.; E. A. Singer of LaFayette, and O. H. Singer, of Atlanta, also a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Rose Hill Baptist church Saturday morning at 10:30 o'clock with Rev. Geo. C. Gibson officiating. Interment will be in Riverdale cemetery.
