"Sophia Hope Snelson, or Rollla, passed away Sunday May 6, 2012 at the age of 92. Hope was born on May 16, 1919 in Licking, MO to the late Alfred Zeb Sliger and Dora (Benson) Sliger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Leroy Henderson and Charles Snelson; one brother, Vernon Sliger; one sister, Vernona Sliger; a daughter-in-law, Anna Mae Ellis; and one grandson, Michael Henderson. She will be greatly missed by her surviving family which includes: one son, Leon Henderson of Rolla; a stepdaughter, Sandra Lewis of Florida; three sisters, Kathy Knudsen of Rolla, Jesse Booker and husband Fred of Cook Station, MO, and Mary Laughlin and husband Jim of Waynesville, MO; three grandchildren, Linda Stricker, Monte Henderson and Charles Henderson; granddaughter-in-law Julie Henderson; eight great grandchildren, Bobby Whitson, Rebecca Whitson, Sarah Stricker, Jennifer Stricker, Michael Henderson, Joseph Henderson; several great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Sophia Hope Snelson will be conducted at 2:00pm on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla. Dr. Mark Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Ozark Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service beginning at 12 noon. Memorial contributions are suggested to Phelps Regional Hospice."
