A native of Licking, Missouri she graduated from Licking High School 1951. Shortly there after she met a young military man from New York, the late Lt. Col.Joseph R. Knudsen, they were married in Fort Leonard Wood. Thereafter she and Joseph were stationed in Munich, Germany where she enjoyed modeling, sight seeing, and the social life of Army life. Upon returning to the United States is when she had her first child, Keith, in Houston, MO. The following year she gave birth to her daughter, Laressa, in Fort Rucker, AL. Being an army wife they moved several times and lived in numerous cities and states. All the while working various jobs and/or volunteering for the Red Cross and other services. She relocated to Rolla in 1970 to raise her children and be near her family. She had several jobs while in Rolla. More noteably when she was Manager at God Fathers's Pizza and later a Desk Clerk at Sooter Inn. When not working she also enjoyed gardening and walking, an avid book reader, painting, animal lover and spending time with family and friends.
In addition of the passing of her mother and father A.Z. Sliger and Dora Sliger her sisters Hope Snelson and husband Charles Snelson of Rolla;
Jessie Booker and husband Fred Booker of Cook Station.
Visitation will be Friday October 28 at the Rolla Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary from 5:00-7:00pm for family and friends. Funeral will be Saturday October 29 at Fox Funeral Home in Licking at 1:00pm.
