Funeral services for Braswell Spain Boozer, 95, of Luling, Texas, were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2004, at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Nancy Day officiated in the services. Interment followed in Luling Cemetery. O'Bannon Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Boozer died February 7, 2004, in Hurst, Texas. He was a native of Sweet Water, Alabama and a resident of Luling, Texas, since 1936. He worked for Exxon for over 30 years, living in Luling, Tomball, and Corsicana, Texas. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hardeman Lodge # 179, The Luling Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, and the Exxon Annuitants' Club.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Savannah Boozer and Mamie B. Boozer; daughter, Linda Lee Boozer McLeroy; two sisters, Flora Hinson and Rachel Pyle; four brothers, Arland Boozer, James Boozer, Alonzo Boozer and Phares Boozer.
He is survived by his daughter, Jo Ann Fawcett (Barry) of Colleyville, Texas; sisters, Lola Ray Boozer of Sweet Water, Alabama and Louie Fay Furr of Magnolia, Mississippi; grandsons, Mike Fawcett of Dallas, Texas and David Fawcett of Keller, Texas; great- granddaughters, Cameron Claire and Maeve Kathleen; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Buck Holcomb, Woody Millican, Don Lightsey, George Greene, Larry Hoskins, and Chester Millican. Honorary Pallbearers were Mike Lundell and members of the Masonic Lodge. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Luling, Texas, The American Cancer Society, or to the charity of one's choice.
