Eileen was the daughter of Michael & Ellen M. “Nellie” (O'Brien) McArdle. She had seven older half-siblings and three siblings. Her family moved to Great Barrington in 1919. A 1929 graduate of Searles High School, she married George P. Fitzpatrick in 1934.
She was past regent and member of Mt Everett Circle, Daughters of Isabella and a member of the Rosary Society of St. Peter's Church. She had been an organist at St. Peter's and had been in the choir for the past 35 years.
She was survived by her husband and mother and children:
1. George Jr., a sophomore at the University of Massachusetts
2. Michael P., a senior at Searles High School,
3. Miss Marjorie A., a teacher at Smith College in North Hampton.
Also survived by brother Michael E. of Newton Center, sister Ruth McArdle, and half-sisters Mrs. Elmer (Anita) Vilardi and Mrs Veronica Conklin; several nieces and nephews.
