"Forrest T. Cushman, age 69, of Veedersburg, died unexpectedly at 2 p.m. while working in his yard.

Mr. Cushman was born May 10, 1901 at Fancher, Ill., the son of Albert F. and Mollie Karney Cushman. He was married to Clora Segers in Vienna, Ill., in 1918 and she survives.

He formerly was employed by the Big 4 Railroad and retired in January 1971 from the Harrison Steel Castings Co., in Attica. He was a member of the Baptist Church in Spillertown, Ill.

Surviving in addition to the wife are: three sons, Ralph (Curley) Cushman of Veedersburg, Albert (Peck) Cushman of Attica Rt. 1, and Roland of Russellville; three sisters, Mrs. Irene Fogle of Herrin, Ill., Mrs. Viola Rehie of Vincennes and Mrs. Velma Rozell of Danville, Ill.,; three brothers, Alva of Veedersburg, Clay of Kenwood, Calif., and Cecil of Kankakee, Ill.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Shirley Butterwick of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Zola Booe of Hillsboro; one step-brother, Carl Roark of Veedersburg; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by one brother and one grandchild.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Veedersburg United Methodist Church. The Rev. Vernon Souder officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
