Mrs. Ella Keating, 85, a resident of Davenport 19 years and formerly head housekeeper at the Moline Commercial club for many years, died at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday in her home, 1203 Pershing avenue following a lingering illness.

Mrs. Keating, the former Ella Kanon, was born Sept. 10, 1864, in Davenport, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kanon, and attended the Davenport schools. The family later moved to Moline, where Mrs. Keating was employed 21 years at the Commercial club. Her husband, George Keating died 60 years ago.

She was a member of Sacred Heart cathedral and the Altar society of the church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. C. A. Sprague, who resided at the same address; a son, George in California; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Two sons and a sister preceded her in death.

The body was removed to the Hill & Fredericks mortuary. Funeral services will be held in the chapel there at 9:30 a. m. Friday, followed by a requiem high mass at 10 a. m. in Sacred Heart cathedral. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Moline. The rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 8 p. m. Thursday.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Keating were held at 9:30 a. m. Friday in the Hill & Fredericks chapel and at 10 a. m. in Sacred Heart cathedral. The Rev. Edward C. Greer officiated at the requiem mass, preached the sermon and gave the committal service in Mt. Calvary cemetery. The children's choir of Sacred Heart cathedral, accompanied by Genevieve O'Connor, sang the mass.
