Passes Away
Ephraim Briggs, Jr., 60, former Bountiful man, died at his home in Blackfoot, Idaho, Friday and funeral services were held in the Bountiful First ward chapel Tuesday afternoon with burial in the Bountiful cemetery.
His father died only about a week ago.
Mr. Briggs was born in Bountiful, December 12, 1875, son of Ephraim and Mary Evans Briggs. He married Inez Benson in 1902 making his home in Holbrook, Idaho, then in Malad and moving to Blackfoot in 1918, where he has since resided.
Mr. Briggs has always been active in church affairs having been in the bishopric of the Holbrook ward, a high councilman in the Malad stake and in the presidency of the High Priest quorum of Blackfoot stake at the time of his death.
He is survived by his widow, 3 sons: Finley P. Briggs, Idaho Falls; Claude Briggs, Pocatello and Leonard Briggs, Blackfoot; four daughters: Irene Briggs, Oakland, Calif.; Ardella B. George, Salt Lake City; Velia B. Shurtliffe, Pocatello, and Marjorie Briggs, Blackfoot; three grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Amy Lallis, Frank, Levi, Jesse and Harold Briggs, Bountiful; George Briggs, Layton; May B. Moss, Clearfield; Lucy B. Brown, Spanish Fork; Rebecca B. Larrabee, Salt Lake City; and La Vera B. Thompson, Hiawatha.
