Capt. William Meacham served in Col. Benjamin Ruggles Woodbridge's Regiment (25th). Three of his brothers (i.e., Jeremiah, Jonathan, and John Meacham) also served in the same regiment.

William Meacham's widow, Sarah, removed to North Adams, Mass., with her two sons (William and Jeremiah) where she taught school. Eventually she married 2) Zadok Everett.

Regarding his second son, Jeremiah:
"316. iii. Jeremiah", b. Nov. 18, 1773; New Salem, Mass.; mar. Aug. 19, 1802, at St. Eustache, Canada to Mary Mansfield, who d. at St. Césaire, L. Canada, Sept. 20, 1832. Jeremiah died at Montreal, Canada, April 2, 1832. Had daughter Mary...".
