Donna Gilchrist, 70, died Thursday, July 19, 2007 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. A Memorial Visitation will be held Monday, July 23, 2007 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Iles Funeral Homes-Grandview Park Chapel. Private interment service will be held at a later date.
Donna was born in Boone, IA on September 18, 1936 to Floyd and Catherine Miller. She graduated from East High School. She worked at various jobs throughout her life, retiring from the trucking industry in 2001. Donna was a strong woman. She fought the hard fight. She was an East Sider through and through. Donna was the strength of the family and will be truly missed by all that knew her and loved her.
Donna is survived by her son, Dan Gilchrist, four daughters, Chris Gilchrist, Tammy King, Lisa ( Keith) Neal and Becky Gilchrist, grandson, Scott Neal, five granddaughters, Heather (Mike) Mapes, Amy (Kevin) Kelly, Lori (Mike) Goodwin, Kari Neal and Kelsey King, four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Austin Mapes, Madison Kelly and Taylor Goodwin, sister, Dolores Gay, brother, Arlie (Butch) Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Gene, her parents and sister, Verna Wight.
