Funeral Services for Mrs A C Sells, 91, widow of the late Dr Sells, Aledo physician and a long time resident of Aledo, were held Saturday afternoon, October 29, 1960, in the Reiser funeral home, Aledo, with The Rev. Lorenz DeVries, pastor of the College Avenue Presbyterian church, officiating.
Pallbearers were R. W. David, Stanton H Prentiss, Dale G Ives, Russell Sandquist, L Boyd Finch and C D Lawson. Entombment was in the Aledo Mausoleum.
Mrs Sells succumbed Thursday, October 27, in the Dubach and Thomas nursing home, Freeport, where she had resided the past three years.
Mrs. Sells, the former Harriett Elizabeth Cabeen, daughter of Robert J. and Mary Elizabeth Pinkerton Cabeen, was born in Seaton, Sept. 21, 1869.
She was a member of the College Avenue Presbyterian church, the Aledo Chapter of the PEO Sisterhood, the Aledo Columbian club, church organizations, and was active in the organization of Oak View country club in Aledo and in various civic groups.
She had been in failing health for the past 10 years.
Surviving are two nieces, Mrs. Malcolm W. Eaton of Freeport and Mrs Sheldon Allen of Cleveland OH, and a nephew Robert C Griffin of Grand Rapids, Mich.
After her marriage there to Dr Sells they resided in Seaton until 1890, when they moved to Aledo. Dr. Sells died in 1936.
